Woolrich releases virtual birds on the web with Audubon

‘Birding the Net’ campaign challenges people to find birds throughout the Internet

WOOLRICH, Pa., October 18, 2011 — Arctic Terns, Rufous Hummingbirds, Bald Eagles and thirty-one other avian species have invaded the Internet as part of Audubon’s new social media campaign Birding the Net, which launched last week. Starting today, Woolrich®, the Original Outdoor Clothing Company, will be hosting a number of birds of prey on their website and providing gift cards as prizes for the birdwatching competition.

“Birding the Net is an amazing campaign that brings the natural world into our online lives in a very fun and informative manner,” said Brent Hollowell, Woolrich VP of Marketing. “We’re proud to partner with Audubon on this initiative and support their mission to connect people with birds, nature and the environment that supports us all.”

The launch of the campaign coincides with the release of the feature film The Big Year starring Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson. Hollowell is the latest in a string of hires in the past year and half by Woolrich, as the company has steadily built its management and support teams and laid the groundwork for its global growth plans.

Hollowell will be responsible for all marketing activities related to the brand and will report directly to Brian Mangione, Executive Vice President.

Hollowell has over 20 years of global branding and marketing experience. He joins Woolrich from BrandRx Marketing, a consulting and branding firm he founded in 2005. Prior to BrandRx, Hollowell held leadership positions inside a number of successful global companies including 180s, Inc., adidas America, and Foot Locker.

As VP of Global Marketing at Foot Locker, Hollowell helped develop a number of innovative marketing programs and spearheaded the development of the company’s global marketing strategy. At adidas America, Hollowell led both Marketing Communications and Retail Marketing and was instrumental in helping revitalize and reposition adidas as a performance brand in the US.

Woolrich® hits the Road with Backpacker Magazine’s 2011 Get Out More Tour

WOOLRICH, Pa., April 12, 2011— Woolrich, the Original Outdoor Clothing Company®, for the fourth consecutive year will criss-cross the country with Backpacker Magazine’s Get Out More Tour to educate consumers about the skills and equipment needed to enjoy the outdoors and inspire healthy active lifestyles. The Woolrich sponsored tour began last week in Raleigh, NC and will make sixty-seven stops at retail stores, events and festivals before finishing in early December in Houston, TX. The next stop on the Get Out More Tour is this evening at 7pm at Great Outdoor Provisions in Wilmington, NC.

At each stop, the Get Out More Tour outdoor experts Sheri and Randy Propster provide insightful and useful advice on the latest gear and the skills required to use them appropriately. During the 75-minute seminars attendees will learn things from how to layer correctly to how to pack for a multiday backpacking trip.

“The Get Out More Tour is great for us and the outdoor community, as it provides a venue for Woolrich to support our retail partners and speak directly with consumers,” said Jerry Rinder, Woolrich VP of Sales. “Sheri and Randy are fantastic ambassadors, the only thing that rivals their technical knowledge is their enthusiasm and passion for the outdoors.”

Woolrich has been a partner of the Get Out More Tour since 2008 and since then has outfitted the Propsters for their presentations as well as their on trail adventures. Experts with true-life experience, the Propsters spent 222 days thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1999 and in 2006 thru-hiked the American Discovery Trail across the U.S.

“Woolrich really understands what people need to enjoy the outdoors,” said Randy Propster. “We pride ourselves on knowing the products we present in our seminars inside and out and we’ve put our Woolrich gear through some gnarly weather and it has always met our performance expectations.”

JDK to design Global Brand Development platform for Woolrich

JDK’s collaboration with Woolrich will key on the development of an international brand platform for the iconic American apparel maker.

Cabela’s Honors Woolrich with Supply Chain Vendor of the Year

WOOLRICH, Pa., March 24, 2011— Woolrich, the Original Outdoor Clothing Company®, has been recognized by Cabela’s for excellence in supply chain management with the Supply Chain Vendor of the Year award. Woolrich was presented the award at a recent ceremony during the Cabela's Vendor Summit at the company's Sidney, Nebraska headquarters.

“Supply chain management is often the unsung hero of successful companies, and we’re proud that our team’s performance stood out above all of Cabela’s vendors,” said Jim Griggs, Woolrich Inc. President.

Woolrich was recognized for excellence in supply chain management over Cabela’s forty five hundred vendors. Cabela’s, the world's largest direct marketer, of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor merchandise, selects its Supply Chain Vendor of the Year based on a number of criteria including flow through, on-time shipping, and shipping completion. In all three categories Woolrich scored in the mid-ninety percentile, including a 99.8 percent rating for flow through.
